I have 2 bricked f*n2100, both of which I cannot get the banner when booting up with the serial connection.

I bought a 232 adapter, built it, and it didn't work. So then I bought the kyocera usb adapter, hacked it to bits, and tried connecting it to my two routers. No luck. I can't get anything to show up on the hypterminal/putty screen.

This is exactly what I do:

1) open up hyperterminal window, i use com6, 9600 8 none 1 none. Hyperterminal is now running

2) Make connections on usb adapter. red (RX) goes to 2nd pin from top on left. Blue(TX) goes to 3rd pin from top on left. The usb is already connected to my computer

3) plug in fon

Nothing shows up on hyperterminal.
This is the case on both routers.

I have tried changing it so that TX is not plugged in when i plug in the fon, and then immediately plug it in, but no luck there either.

Am i missing something?
