which 2.3 sp2 version is stable and good?

I am currently using 2.3 sp2 dated 6/05/06 vpn. the firmware is stable and good except the access restriction. Apparently, the access restriction seems to be not working properly with a range of ports blocking. I am able to reproduce the problem periodically. Rebooting the router will clear the problem. ( I schedule to reboot daily).

i am looking for a working , stable firmware with the following features:

openVPN, PPTP server, access restriction, QoS, port forwarding, DDNS, UPnP, Web Management, WOL, schedule reboot, TCP timeout, logging status, firewall SPI, DNS server.

Wireless connection is not my concern now, although it is a plus.

Thank you for your suggestions and help.

I am thoroughly happy with the 08/04/06 build. Some have reported their routers have been bricked with the last few builds but I haven't had that issue on any of my routers.

I think that 08/4/6 is stable too. I don't see any problems(serious problems) with it. Working on WRT54G 2.0 and 3 WAP54G 2.0.

I think not to update the router soon. I'm afraid from brick and need from RESET button... Sad

I'm using DD-WRT v23 SP2 with '2006 - 0804' on my main router this is a WRT-54GL v1.1. The other one has been bought via FON and has been upgraded to the DD-WRT v23 SP2 with '2006 - 0803' release.

can someone explain to me what sp2 has to offer over sp1?

i see lots of sp2 and 0804 version recommendations, but why?

i'm using the Standard DD-WRT v23 SP2 "2006 - 0804" on my WRT54GL1.1 without any problems so far.

DDNS can't be edited in 8/4/6 .

The latest SP2 builds fix many bugs over and above SP1-Final:
e.g. DNSMasq works well

Introduces several smaller features:
e.g. advanced DDNS, NVRam client DB for DNSMasq, various small improvements

BUT also breaks some things in SP1-Final:
e.g. OpenVPN Server does not work in certain (e.g. bridging) configurations, occasional scheduled reboot problems etc.

AND of course, the new features may still have (mostly minor) bugs.

oh, u mention that sp2 dated 8/4/06 is stable. is the openVPN working properly? how about wireless connectivity?

What do you mean by "Standard DD-WRT v23 SP2"? Is the 2006 0804 SP2 build Final/Golden Master?

I've been using 8/11 since it came out and it is working great. It fixed a couple things introduced into the 8/10 version.
