The checknewversion.sh script's self update feature works again. The easyddup scripts are now on gitlab instead of attached to the OP. See the new download section of this thread's first post for the download link. One benefit is that logging into the forum is no longer needed to download so both FORUMUSER and FORUMCRED settings are now documented as deprecated in checknewversion.ini.sample.
Only checknewversion.sh has changed so manually replacing that script with its new version will fix the easyddup self update feature of an existing setup.
FYI, all official download resources save and except for ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/ are now behind an Anubis mechanism. I don't recall if wget or curl works with the ftp protocol in DD-WRT any longer or not. I just checked the mirror.math.princeton.edu mirror and it is behind several builds.
This isn't related to easyddup, but I wanted to take this opportunity to point out that the third-party RSS feeds for DD-WRT downloads have stopped working due to the Anubis web firewall.
And as of this post, the Princeton mirror is now up-to-date. I kind of figured that RSS feeds would get broken, too. The price of protecting assets against DDoS attacks and indiscriminate web scrapers.
At this moment, easyddup still can download from the official links, but the Anubis firewall may become stricter in the future.
The Princeton mirror is marked as "unofficial" on the wiki page, though as usual, the wiki may be outdated.
Without any mention of the Princeton mirror in the new build thread, people may feel reluctant to download DD-WRT firmware from an unendorsed source - especially those who always complain about the lack of hash or signature checks for firmware files.
If easyddup is blocked from the official DD-WRT download sites and have to switch to the Princeton mirror, I think it would be better to have this as an option in the INI file, or perhaps some kind of disclaimer when using it, unless there's a green light from DD-WRT to download from there.
Maybe the Princeton mirror also will be firewalled in the future when scrapers rush there.
