More explicit concise helpful commentary, Aloz. Thanks for the pointer to check cache size. The build in use by the person is post-stack-overflow patch, so we can only hope that's not the problem
What are people using for cache sizes for SmartDNS and DNSMasq. I am not setting a cache size for SmartDNS and I have 1500 for DNSMasq. Now I am wondering if I can make performance improvements by adjusting those. _________________ Linksys MX8500 DD-WRT v3.0-r62966 std (12/06/25)

on this particular system I dont have any DNS cache all 0, 0.. in fact once im back (soon) i will update XR500 indeed...your browser can have DNS cache, or your OS.. but mine is 0 too
and on my other systems, im mostly using DNScrypt-proxy v2 where i have set my cache to minimum... _________________ Atheros

No log file is created, but I do see some startup messages in the syslog. Note that the only setting I added from the GUI is the "log-level notice". The others show up by default _________________ Linksys MX8500 DD-WRT v3.0-r62966 std (12/06/25)

It looks as if a logging level default of warn was set (along with log file location) at some point, but I believe this is what I have copied from the guide previously, now commented out:
Code:
#log-level info # fatal,error,warn,notice,info,debug

It used to all go to syslog, if memory serves me correctly.
Thank you. I set it to 'debug' and now have lots of logging in the syslog. _________________ Linksys MX8500 DD-WRT v3.0-r62966 std (12/06/25)

Following up, turns out my issue was a bit less complex; I didn't actually have IPv6 enabled, so commenting out the IPv6 server entries seems to have resolved the ... stopping resolving.
