I have a TP-Link WR 841 N v11. I'm not sure I made a mistake, I updated to the last firmware via CLI like I always do as soon as every new firmware is released and now it's bricked. I have to recover later via tftpd like I did in the past, I just wanted to provide a heads up for others in the case it's not me that made a mistake but it's the firmware that's bricking this kind of routers. I'm lucky I still have internet via my 4g phone data connection. Cheers!

To be more clear the router is in boot loop. I say that I am not sure that I made a mistake because I can't remember if it's not the case I typed something wrong in the telnet connection due to me being distracted and not fully focused at this task that became a routine for me at every new firmware released. My previous firmware was the exactly last before the current last firmware.

Note: I like the more detailed, colorful, CLI; I also like the return of the flash progress messages (I just noticed them, they must have arrived with the 11/05/2025 build.)

Router/Version: R7800 ver. 1
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r62606 std (11/12/25)/Linux 6.1.158-rt28 #627 SMP Wed Nov 12 04:35:53 +07 2025 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r60742 std/No

Issues/Errors:

First revision to work properly without the "Switch Config"-tab (last r60742) for me.
Still cannot use SFE (NSS-ECM) without losing internet connection resulting in poor WAN performance.
Cannot access local resources on OpenVPN via WireGuard (Bypass LAN Same-Origin Policy). Works on r60742.

Update: I recovered via TFTPD and for the sake of finding out what happened I updated again to same r62606, this time via webui. Again, it entered in bootloop, so it wasn't my mistake. I will recover again and I will bring it to previous last firmware.

Router/Version: Linksys MR7350 x 3
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r62606 std (11/12/25), Linux 6.6.116-rt29 #4533 SMP Wed Nov 12 03:59:23 +07 2025 aarch64
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r61848 std (06/24/25), no reset
Mode/Status: Gateway (NSS-ECM), Access Point (2.4GHz-HT20 N/G Mixed, 5GHZ-VHT80 AX/AC/N mixed, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k, guest network, domain:UNITED STATES), performance governor, IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT via SmartDNS/DNSMasq, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server + 2 Wired access points (2.4GHz-HT20 AX Only, 5GHZ-HT80 AX/AC/N mixed, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k, guest network, domain:UNITED STATES)
Issues/Errors:
Up 6 hours. USB 3.2 stick working properly for Entware and "jffs" partitions. Speed, wired and wifi, is very close to published, which is equal or favorable to the ISP router - tested via nPerf.com. Wireguard and OpenVPN servers both working as expected and throughput sufficient to open video files on network shares. 5GHz showing 22dBm (set to 27dBm). 2.4GHz showing 25dBm (also set to 27dBm).

Immediately after update, it went into a boot loop where it rebooted 4 times. On the 4th time, it stayed up. I thought maybe it had failed back to the other partition, but that was not the case. I still have one Echo Dot that won't connect to 5GHz on any build after r61848, but my older model of Dot connects fine. It's been stable for 6 hours, so we'll see.

Thank you Brainslayer.

This was one of the smoothest updates I've had in a very long time; it took less than three minutes, start to finish, without a single snafu.
Thank you, Brainslayer & team. Smile

Are you using Shortcut Forwarding Engine? I cannot on R7800...
