That looks very much like you have an IP address conflict. Is the router also your gateway? Do you have an ISP router or router/modem combo that might also have the same IP address?
The router has it own, manually given, ip address but the modem, which also has its own address, assigns the router a different address. The router is physically separate from the modem and is the gateway to the modem. The router is dhcp. I have noticed, for some time now, after a previous upgrade, the modem assigns an ip address which is different from the router's ip address.
Only the external hard drive is disconnected. Other than that, everything works; I can surf the internet, wifi is working; the problem is the usb frequent disconnection, like a plague.

What format is the external drive in? I don't use mine as a NAS but I do have an ext4 thumbdrive attached with no issues. _________________ Formerly dpp3530 Linksys MR7350

Just minutes after midnight (like 3x hours uptime) one device using 2.4 WLAN (Android 12) and later one device using 5GHz WLAN (Android 14) could not connect to the www anymore.
Neither IPv4 nor IPv6 traffic could pass behind this MR7350 for those two devices.
I was able to access the router on its IPv4 still, but its IPv6 also did not work with those devices.
Syslog gave nothing special, indeed lease for both devices should have lasted another 3 hours. Status --> WLAN looked fine.
Other devices (Android 15, Linux) had no problem and could still mtr/traceroute/ping IPv4 and IPv6 targets in LAN and www via WLAN.
Restarting the Android devices did not fix this, had to restart the MR7350, too.
After this 2.4GHz Wireless had 0SNR problem.
Restarted again, everything seemed fine but 2.4GHZ WLAN was SLOW (maximum 10 Mbit/s).
Restarted again, still very slow 2.4GHz WLAN.
Went ahead, disabled "Legacy Rates (11b)" and restarted the router again.
Everything seems fine again.
How to debug?
Syslog gave no information, oops partition also no entry.
WLAN Settings:
2.4G (20MHz mixed, WPA2 Personal, WPA3 Personal / SAE - CCMP-128 (AES)) and 5G (80MHz AX / AC / N Mixed, WPA3 Personal / SAE - CCMP-128 (AES)) wifi, bridged VAP on 2.4GHz

Kernel: Linux 4.9.337 #774 SMP Mon Aug 11 04:58:36 +07 2025 armv7l
Reset: No
Mode & Uptime: Gateway >48hrs
Issues:
i) Internet connection dropped out at around the 24th hour mark of operation.
(Manual reboot to regain Internet connection)
ii) Same issue of Internet dropping out occurred at around the 24th hour mark again (second time).
Reverted back to previous r61970 for consistency. _________________ Life is a journey; travel alone makes it less enjoyable and lonely.

- OpenVPN Client for incognito & o/seas based programs
- 10G SFP+ connected to RB5009 (via optical fiber)
- QoS - HFSC/FQ_CODEL deployed on ISP's 500/50mbps connection
Router/Version: Netgear R9000
File/Kernel: r62460
Previous/Reset: r61981/no reset
Mode/Status: WDS AP
Issues/Errors: keeps rebooting, when it comes back up there's no DNS, a cold boot fixes the DNS issue until the next time the router decides to reboot itself. rolled back to r61981

Just over three days and still stable. I have one Echo Dot that won't connect to 5Ghz on this build, although it worked on r61848. An older Echo Dot connects to one of the other APs with the same settings. It does connect to 2.4GHz, so not a big deal. It's probably something in the Dot firmware. _________________ Formerly dpp3530 Linksys MR7350

Issues/Errors: Smooth firmware upgrade with the web interface. The problem with mounting the USB drive persists: the router enters a boot loop if the drive is inserted and automount enabled. The boot loop can be stopped by unplugging the drive.
Free memory is very low, even immediately after reboot.

Update: 20 hours up on the gateways. 6 hours on the APs (full reset). Things have remained stable.
I had a similar problem but i dont think its the ddwrt firmware, i had it with the first generation echo plus but lots of people with older dots say same issue and had to wipe the device and then follow online instructions to do it via a different method.. basically factory reset, set up as a echo tap...and you might have to manually input the wifi instead of scan...this was using android device. You can probably find a few alternate procedures and a few threads say use and iphone.. But setting it up as tap will eventually work and it will be the correct device. Seems the android wifi change script was updated and causes the loss of connection. PITA by amazon.
Also note, there is still some voodoo going on with the amazon tablet. Works on primary router but all others say too many connections or something. I reported it and I think there is another report. This might be related to ddwrt because it just started happening in the last months firmware releases. Have not tracked it down more yet...
Anyway, some older first and some second gen amazon devices need special handling with android as their wifi settings require a workaround.
ALSO WARNING and this is almost criminal by amazon...they will add wifi networks to your device if you save them for amazon to use so if you value your sanity, only use if for setup and dont let amazon save it. Because I have had several issues where the device was using the wrong wifi that it got a password for from setting up another device....which with the complex networks I run can be a problem. Calls to mind that I need to document this elsewhere so people are warned, because I put the devices on their own vlan, but they would pop up on other ssid I never gave them access to. And yes I know I can block that via other stuff which I will eventually but still, should not happen but it does anyway.
