I'm afraid my R7800 can't be recovered. Having a 2.5 gb connection for some time now, what can I replace it with
If it were all integrated with the Wifi I would be happy but possibly a modular and compatible system would be better and, finally, if it had a few more ports th I would be very happy.
Thank you

I searched the dd-wrt database but I couldn't find the two models.
Can you give me the link to the firmware of both?
Thank you
hmm router database page has a disclaimer
DISCLAIMER
For those looking for a complete list or search features by hardware specs we are working on extending the router database to provide these features. In the meantime there is the Supported Device List in the DD-WRT wiki that provides you most of these information. But please take care - everybody can edit the information there so we cannot prove that they are correct in every case.
This database may not have up-to-date information and may even recommend a build which might cause issues. As such, you should check the device specific forum (Broadcom, Atheros, MediaTek, etc.) first before flashing any build recommended in this database. There you will find build specific topics that discuss any issues with a particular build/release. For more up-to-date firmware files, please visit the firmware faq
so, go to https://support.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php?title=Supported_Devices and then find in the page (ctrl+F) WRX36 or MX8500 its simple..so simple.. _________________ Atheros

I'll endorse the MX8500. I still have my R7800. nicely boxed up and sitting idle. Not sure what I am going to do with it _________________ Linksys MX8500 DD-WRT v3.0-r62966 std (12/06/25)

Good morning, two months have passed but I never find the models you have indicated to me available. In the meantime, have other models capable of having speeds equal to or greater than 2.5 gbps entered the list
If you wanted to adopt an x86 hw what would you recommend and what configuration would be necessary to manage at least 6/8 eth + wifi
Thank you

for 2.5Gbit WAN performance you will definitely need a powerful x86 system...
https://protectli.com/ or similar micro PC with CPU that has AES-Ni support...
WIFI you can use an old DDWRT router in WAP/switch mode...and you will even have an extra ports...
you can always add an extra switch..anywhere...
P.S. about Dynalink WRX36 and Linksys MX8500 ....those are on a high demand...but not available anywhere... as well, not sure if any of those will be capable of handling 2.5Gbit WAN performance...so, your options are very limited...and the big question is how capable is the ISP that provides 2.5Gbit and will it max it out...I was recently dealing with one Llinksys MX series and it had a faulty radio and very buggy firmware...i couldn't even try DDWRT on it...neither had a time to waste....my Dynalink WRX36 is fine and very solid..touch wood...
One of my ISP providers recently upgraded to 1Gibt and their 1Gbit router provided is a custom Linksys i recon some crap with very basic firmware, it cannot handle 1Gbit, but rather 500Mbit+...
So, i replaced it with one of my R7800 (i've x3 ) it does the job a touch better but still not 1Gbit...next year 2026 ISP even updates to 2.5Gbit...i wonder what 2.5Gbit router they will provide and how capable is..or ill be on the same boat as you now _________________ Atheros

The problem of the x86, in addition to the cost, is also having to configure it with other routers to have WiFi... Since they are unobtainable, dd-wrt compatible, are there real alternatives to the Dynalink WRX36 and Linksys MX8500 on the market? Will there be any in the near future?
