I posted my logs. Mine was stable, then became unstable on both wifi channels - my logs showed all red - posted image on edit in my initial post. I did post both logs from 61848 (stable) and 61954 for comparison on my mr7350. for now I am back on the stable 61848 build.

I also had the second flash - then all good - then about 6 hours in ish the build became unstable for me.

Is your 2nd attempt still working?
Since you posted it, I tried again and am in Limbo again.
Some devices on 2.4 GHz cannot access websites but only the MR7350, nothing behind it.
2.4GHz VAP is sometimes unstable if at all visible to devices.
And new: my 5GHz devices show sometimes SNR 0 and Signal Quality 0 in Status Wireless.
They are caught in an endless retry to connect loop.

To break this loop I have to disable WiFi on them, restart the router. Wait until everything has settled down and then enable WiFi on my devices again.

Still try to figure out why this happens in this release.
Same settings work on r61848.
Strange...

after uptime 3 days 7 hrs I booted EA8500 back into r61915 due to r61954 causing a bit of small stutters on all chromecast devices.
all good now -- r61915 Uptime 6:45 ... I would have posted last night but these forums would NOT allow any type of post Rolling Eyes

@Spearmint:
Same here, except I did not have any errors or even red lines in my logs.

Only devices requesting authentification over and over.
In parallel my clients can only reach router but nothing behind it (sometimes).

I switched back to r61848, for now, too.

It seems to me, there is a problem with devices leaving the range of the wifi and returning. Sometimes those devices get listed with 0 SNR and Signal quality and then everything starts falling apart.

I will investigate further this afternoon after work is done.

I was hoping it my my own user error - that is easier to fix with all the help I have received here. (serious, not sarcasm) Smile

Sys Info page, Services pane shows RADIUS = AP, when it should be 'Disabled'. Pics attached showing same configuration (not using RADIUS) on both an r9000 and a WRT32X save USB being enabled on the latter.

This was brought up before, but I believe the bug itself was missed in the exchange.

After 27 reboots I finally got my MR7500-RM2 to mount USB drive using R61954 for a short time. But the setting you change will not survive a reboot. I think it is running out of memory and crashing.

Once I got the USB mounted I immediately checked to see what got mounted. It actually mounted JFFS and the SWAP partition.

Here is a what the FREE command reported on the CLI.
Code:
BusyBox v1.37.0 (2025-07-17 00:57:38 +07) built-in shell (ash)

root@dd-wrt:~# free
total        used        free      shared  buff/cache   available
Mem:          379912      372636       94364           0       24084        7276
Swap:         524284       69976      454308
root@dd-wrt:~#

It is using 68MB of swap. Shocked
Why is it using that much swap? I have no idea.
I started with the factory defaults, changed the password, then disabled following services:

Disabled DNSMASQ.
Disabled DHCP.
Left the WAN port disabled.
Disabled all three radios.
Disabled Shortcut Forwarding Engine (SFE).
Disabled NTP

At this point I enabled USB support and USB Storage with automount enabled.
I did not enable NAS, Samba, or FTP.

With all those services disabled why does it need 68MB of swap?

I flashed this release yesterday night again and went to bed.
My router MR7350 is set to restart at 6:02 in the morning.

My android devices are turned off every night, so I switched them on and wasn't able to connect.
It seemed like my devices on WiFi 1.1 were the only ones connected.

Under Status --> Wireless, the given RX Rate for all my devices is 0.0M, SNR is 0 and Signal Quality is 0.

With mixed results, some devices arent still able to connect or are connected and show "no internet".

My Settings for wlan0 (5GHz) are:

Radio Mode: AP
Domain: Germany
Network Mode: AX/AC/N mixed
Channel Width 80MHz
Channel: 100
Extenseion Channel: UU (+6)
Beacon Interval: 200
DTIM: 1
Sensitivity Range / ACK Timing: 800

My Settings for wlan1 (2.4GHz) and its VAP 1.1 are:

Radio Mode: AP
Network Mode: mixed
Channel Width: Full (20MHz)
Channel: 11
Beacon Interval: 200
DTIM Interval: 1
Sensitivity Range / ACK Timing: 800

There are usually ~10 other WiFis on 2.4Ghz and ~5 other Wifis on 5GHz in my range.

Those are the commands I have in "Administration" --> "Commands" --> "Startup":
Code:
ntpclient 192.168.1.254

Those are the commands I have in "Administration" --> "Commands" --> "Firewall":
Code:
ip -6 route add default via fd01:ab00:cd00:ef00:192:168:1:4
ip -6 route add fd89:5862:86:1:192:168:92:0/112 via fd01:ab00:cd00:ef00:192:168:1:254
curl https://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt|grep "^0.0.0.0" >> /tmp/hosts
sleep 20
killall -HUP dnsmasq

--> Please note: The problem is still there even when I disable the curl, sleep and killal commands.

I'll append the messages, messages.0 and messages_after_reboot (manual by me two hours ago).

When I go back to r61848 everything starts working again.

Kernel Version Linux 6.6.98-rt29 #3739 SMP Thu Jul 17 00:57:38 +07 2025 aarch64

update: CLI r61745> r61954

mode: Gateway/DNSCrypt-proxy v2 via Entware, AD-Block (via script),IPset Firewall,Forced DNS,AP&Net Isolation,x4VLAN,40 HT 2.4Ghz only(Vanilla), Disable 121
status: NON - Operational

errors: everything after 61745 on this router is hell...GUI is buggy, no WAN no fun, router services hang and the most bad one is no NTP TIME and there forward...nothing works...also router behaves very odd even after reset...

also tried very basic config on 61954, but router gets very buggy...no gui no ssh...
WAN light still flashing yellow .. Smile

returned to 61745 via GUI and than reset...and reloaded the old save for 745...after reset while still on 61954, you'd need to force IP to connect to the GUI..then downgrade and ect.

Router Model 3x MX4300 and gateway, wap/vap and switch, 3x as mesh wap providers
Firmware Version r61954 std (07/17/25)

update: GUI
reset: NO
mode: Gateway, WAP,VAP, dhcp server, wireguard server and nordvpn client
status: worked fine for a day, they daily restart overnight and then this morning I lost most of the VAP that runs the devices that are iot and such on 2.4gh wlan 1.1. This was on a router operated as a bridge/vap/switch

rebooting via gui did not remedy the problem, but rebooting via the power switch did bring back the wlan1.1 devices. everything else seemed to be working.

On the main router, I think the 2.4 ghz lost internet but i did not notice it, but the rest of the devices had it and the 5gh channels had it. Did not notice any problems on the 3 mesh nodes operating just as mesh wap. I rebooted the 3 routers that were not mesh just to see if that rectified the problems, hence i am not sure if the gateway router still had an issue before gui reboot.

But after gui reboot, definitely still had a problem with the VAP router that runs as a wap/vap/switch for the devices on the 2.4 wlan1.1 channel. Some were looping on the getting dhcp as others have described and some were not working at all. Everything else seemed to be working fine on the 5gh channels and mesh and switched lines.

Physically turning off the main wap/vap/switch downstream from the gateway router brought back the wlan1.1 and all devices successfully connected. It seems this might have been an issue with the timing of their 1 day re-up on the dhcp, but i did not notice any errors in logs other than the multiple requests of those devices connected to the wlan1.1 (or not connected Smile

So i think i only had problems with the one router that runs the iot VAP, but not sure but resolved by physical reboot so far.

Not using smartDNS on this router, is that the time issue?

hmmm im not using SmartDNS neither...strange as my DNSCrypt-proxy v2 via USB (entware) works for a few moments and then stops...and NTP time cycling is going on...too..
tried reset with a basic config, tried also no IP's in NTP time box, same it just doesn't get NTP...my router above always has been with the same config...do you also use VLANS on WRX36...

its a absolute hell to operate this unit even after reset...it doesn't fetch an IP, to windows based systems...so forced IP is the only way...after reset wifi is so broken that it requires few times to connect, re-connect...tested on x2 laptops win 10 and win 11...same behavior, where on my linux with Parrot OS, after reset wifi 2,4Ghz doesn't connect at all...no idea what is happening, but every build after 61745 is no go for me...still happy i haven't bricked mine and haven't had to go recovery way....fingers crossed... Cool ...nothing in the klog too...

My main Dynalink router is running r60742 that has 5 vlan's, Smartdns etc all working great, that was the router that would soft brick during every upgrade, all fixed now by going back to stock, now I've done once, it literally takes 10-15 mins to go back to stock and reflash DD-WRT my be worth it with yours at some point.
to clarify, the new build post above is my spare Dynalink, it's behind my main router in gateway mode, WAN has no problem getting IP from my main router and no NTP issues on this build, I did reset, vlans working fine, the issues seems to be the wireless VAPs (same on mr7350) once the vlan id is added to the interface in vlan filters the vap clients get prompted for wireless password, unless it's configuration error, posted in dsa thread about it.
Regarding your ip after reset, thought it was my pc, I've noticed this on mr7350 as well on recent builds behave the same, that's why I thought it was my adapter needing resetting on pc.
No issue with wireless coming up at all, but i only use wireless on this spare router when messing, my main router i use unifi AP's so can't comment on wireless to much.

FWIW, I have encountered this same 5G behavior on r61465 on a Dynalink DL-WRX36. Just happened this morning again, first time in perhaps a month. All the 5G devices were affected. A reboot got things going again.

WPA2personal/WPA3 w/ AES, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), Two SmartDNS/DoT providers and one DNSCrypt provider via VPNs. DNSmasq manages that plus ad blocking and local DNS.
