Hey guys, does anyone have any experience or knowledge about using this router in Client Mode on the 5 Ghz bandwidth?

I'm here doing some research before I buy one of these routers (the AC87R specifically) in a thrift store. I'm thrilled to see that DD-WRT works on it, but I see the 5 Ghz support is incomplete due to the Quantenna hardware.

I want to use this as a travel router and reserve the 2.4 Ghz for a local hotspot for my phone. I have an older ASUS RT_N66U which did a fantastic job of this until the radio burned out.
