Archer C7 v 5
DD-WRT v3.0-r60511 std (03/28/25)
I am trying to access the router from a web browser. However, the web browser is unable to connect. I have tried 2 Firefox-based web browsers. I have the browsers set "Don't enable https only mode."
This problem came out of no where. I stopped using the dd-wrt router for a couple of weeks. The only thing that's different this time is that I don't have the router connected to the ISP's Gateway. In previous instances, I would usually have the dd-wrt router connected to the ISP's gateway and the gateway would be set to act as a modem only (called bridge mode).
For the couple of weeks when I did not use dd-wrt router, I was using the ISPs gateway as a router and modem. I think that the ISP's router gave a different format of local IP address.

that is probably your answer
Thank you for answering. I thought that I can have the dd-wrt router plugged in and have a single network cable connecting it to my computer. (No cable connecting the router to the internet.) It would then obtain a local IP address.

If you are connected to the router what IP address does your PC client get
Can you telnet into the router?
I have now been able to connect to the dd-wrt router via the web browser.
What solved the problem was either 1) having the router connected to the gateway in bridge mode; or 2) that I corrected to the proper IP address (whereas before I might not have been).
