Workaround by adding 1440 to Lease Expiration, /tmp/dnsmasq.conf will change to this
if in hostname user write wrong sign like: ()_ etc. DHCP don't run after restart router
[color=red]similar with field "Lease Expiration"
if user leave it empty, DHCP don't run run after restart router
nope that magic didnt work...on R7800 nor XR500...and yes on my x2 R7800 those ware expressed differently...things i havent tried is to delete all boxes static leases and addd those via dnsmasq rules...as this R7800 with those was able to flash all the rest gone to bootloop...interesting they went to bootloop with no way to be reseted via button...not even with 5 times bad boot ...there is something odd with this build...and noting that fixes it in the logs...apart of adding new hardware and so on R7800 wifi performance is also from bad to worst...
p.s.
Finally.... yes things i haven't tried is to delete all boxes static leases and add those via dnsmasq rules .....removed all those boxes with static leases and XR500 update worked...but not for R7800..still investigating...
already fixed.
workaround is. dont leave the static leases time empty. type in 0 or infinite or static _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

I have been testing Hurricane off an on for the last few builds. I was getting an IPv6 address on the router, and on my clients, but I couldn't ping IPv6 addresses or resolve DNS to an IPv6 address. This is the first build where it's working as expected. Hurricane tunnel has been up for about 3 hours now. I'll let it go a bit longer and see if it's stable. I usually do native IPv6 from my ISP (DHCP with prefix delegation).
Well, sometime between when I went to bed at midnight, and 8AM when I got up, the tunnel stopped routing. I don't see anything in the log specifically pertaining to IPv6, but I see this sequence repeating periodically in the log after 5:33AM. Only thing I see unusual that could be related.
Full log is attached. I'm back on the ISP's IPv6 now.
the nss capa logs are normal. its for internal debugging and research. only informational use. no error _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s

well one of my R7800 flashed with no problem to 61806 and it has all the static leasess via dnsmasq config with empty values...and flashed well..the other one has values and didn't want to flash...i even did nvram erase prior flash then flashed and unit didn't come back but boot looped..no idea what happens..the only thing that circles into my mind is, if this firmware size steps on a dead block..
but my other unit XR500 was behaving the same so i deleted all the boxes..and then it flashed..but my R7800 didn't with deleted boxes..but it didn't take the flash even with nvram erase...sorry, but no serial on those units...will try to enable console debug and extra log setting for the next flash...
will see the next update.. _________________ Atheros

Issues/Errors: WAN port
Wan port does not respond to DHCP and static adress magically disappears.
Sometimes wanport reacts but losses connection after a short time.
Other problems:
WDS very unstable. Selecting channel is difficult because the option sometimes is gone.
tried three different MR7500 routers with the same problem.
A MR8300 also with unstable Wlan port.

Indeed empty should mean infinite.
Yeah, but does it? I have many dhcp-host lines without expirations in my dnsmasq options. And when I do
Code:
for d in $(awk '{print $1}' /tmp/dnsmasq.leases); do date -d@$d; done
I see times in the future by less than my lease time from the Settings page. I'm on 61465 still, so this is only peripherally related to the present discussion, but I've seen this defaulting behavior for years, across many builds. It's basically never defaulted to infinite.
Edit: Oops! I'm typing faster than I'm thinking. In Networking's Additional DHCP Servers section I set the default the same for every subnet, so more likely my dhcp-host lines are getting defaults from there, from defaults for individual subnets. And I could have just looked at the GUI Status page for the expiration info! _________________ On 61465: 3x Dynalink DL-WRX36, Linksys MX4200v2, 2x MR7350. I Just found this...
When i tried to recreate the settings of my R7800 to my XR500, manually...as soon as i turn on(enable) VPN client with PBR...router goes to bootloop...and then only reset works...so, there is something with VPN client side...my router also has x4 vlans..(segmented lan ports).. _________________ Atheros

Router/Version: MR7500 DD-WRT v3.0-r61843 std (06/23/25)
Previous/Reset: / clean install
Mode/Status: ap / WAN not working!
Issues/Errors: No Internet as WAN is not working.
Problem with WAN port . DHCP on wanport not working at all.
Static setting does not solve anything. save and save/apply
After a reboot the setting is gone and empty.
The WANport LED are not flickering so it seems the port is not really active.
Networking tab shows: wan: error -1
This is a absolute showstopper for this version in regard to the MR7500!
Syslog is not showing any WAN info.
after three clean install/factory resore i have a connection.
The first connection caused a crash and reboot of the build.
Now it is running for 10 minutes.
Try to build up the settings clean and not from backup.
Anyone notifiying the bug tracker?

good news. bootloop is fixed. it was related to a cryptodev change and affects mainly wrt1900/wrt3200acm and r7800 based devices. dont know why it didnt crash on ipq807x.
but anyway. i was able to reproduce it and fixed it and the fixed version didnt come up with that issue. i will now delete the last 3 versions from the download server and build everything new overnight.
