These screenshots are made on a Zyxel GS1900-48
The following devices are currently supported (however not all are tested since i dont have access to all of these devices)
depending on the demand more switches might be supported in future. it all depends if there are people willing to test usually bad builds or able to provide test devices.

zyxel-gs1900-10hp
zyxel-gs1900-24-v1
zyxel-gs1900-24ep
zyxel-gs1900-24hp-v2
zyxel-gs1900-48hp-v2
zyxel-gs1900-8-v2

zyxel-gs1900-16
zyxel-gs1900-24e
zyxel-gs1900-24hp-v1
zyxel-gs1900-48
zyxel-gs1900-8-v1
zyxel-gs1900-8hp-v1
zyxel-xgs1250-12-v1
zyxel-xgs1250-12-v2

finally i also made ports for the following switches. consider that i'm not able to test them
right now. so external help is required

Lol that nice...by the way i just checked some of the old Netgear Switches, some of those are
20+ year's old and may not that easy to buy/find...for testing..
I do have one old Netgear 5 port ProSafe blla bla model but, dont bother with it too often and its not among supported...my main question is in terms of update...are those updates provide updated binaries and drivers...as Netgear stock updates on those old Switch's are long time not provided ...

no they arent 20 years old. that chipset isnt that long time on the market. max is maybe 8 for 8380 based ones and the 8393 variants are still available. i also have some 10gbit switche in the pipe, but the only one i have is a engineering sample. consider that some vendor reuse names for newer devices. so make sure it has the right chipset.
regarding updates. i never dropped any old device. i still maintain devices i started with from 2005. its all the same sourcecode. for all devices. including the switches. of course features may differ

I presume Aloz is referring to the GS-105E. Can't find hardware details on it, so it'd need to be opened up and pictures taken.

https://www.netgear.com/business/wired/switches/5-port-switch/

Somewhere in inventory, I have a TP-Link 8-port model with 4 PoE ports, but I was already told it's most likely not going to see support.

the gs-105e is not running linux and the factory firmware is just 900kb on these models or even smaller. so you can imagin how big the flash size will be and its a unmanaged switch

you have to look for switched based on rtl838x or rtl839x. they can be supported if running linux (some may run ecos, but most do linux). rtl930x is possible too. but i havent tried to port it yet, but i have the code and a engineering sample for playing. (a 16 port 10gbit switch with poe and 2 sfp+ ports)

for now its better just to take a look on the already existing ports. they are all available for download already. i run a gs1900-48 locally here and its doing very well so far

Because it's a TP-Link.

this device is not running linux. the original firmware is also just 1 mb. consider that this firmware is for managed. switches. in theory the tplink sg series can be supported
