I installed a 4-ports 2.5G Ethernet adapter in my X86 system. It is a PCIe x4 card with Intel I226-V chip. It works in Windows as expected and getting max speed from my 500M internet service. However, it can only get up the 180M when it is in the DD-WRT system. Anyone willing to help me tackle this problem? Appreciate.
Note that I use the DD-WRT gui exclusively. Just figured out how to Putty to it today but I think I can navigate the system thru CLI with enough hand-holding.
DD-WRT version is v3.0-r59887 std (02/27/25)
Turn off SFE or Shortcut forwarding engine. It's under the basic tab. I did notice it would cause crashing at random and there was no benefit of having it on for me. I think it does slow the speed test also.
I use the realtek 6 port card its a RTL 8125B chipset and can hit 1Gbps when the cable internet isn't messed up. It does support 2.5Gbps speed for each port too. Just none of my pc's have the 2.5Gbps adapters yet. I do have one I need to retest since the Windows driver for it was crap.
What is the system specs your running this card on too?
I am done with this card. I tested it in a Windows mechine with the lastest driver from Intel and it is doing exactly the same, bad. I replace it with a 4 ports Realtek chip and it is working as expected, in DD-WRT, Windows and Ubuntu.
Thank you for the help
p.s. I do have SFE turned off

Did they ever fix the issues with the Intel I225/6-V based 2.5GbE solutions? I'd post a link or five, but since the forum is being hypersensitive, I can't. I knew I should've responded before this with full reference.
the most i see is some worked around the issues by disabling power saving in the driver (windows) but doesnt fix it for everyone, i specifically picked a board for my x870 upgrade to have realtek (cant believe i just said that) specifically cause of intel's failure _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

That's interesting as most of the du jour Intel-based mini PCs with multiple ethernet ports that support 2.5GbE use this hardware if I am not mistaken and OPNSense / pfSense seems to work okay with them AFAIK.
linux drivers may be able to handle it better, or maybe a *.x hardware revision on some to mitigate the issues, most issues seem to be with onboard nics, rather than independent nics themselves.
ps: nice to see u around still now a days.. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)
