I've done Netgear R6350 hardware mod for serial. And tested it with Putty.

My putty serial communication settings which worked for me as follows.
Speed (baud) 56700
Data Bits 8
Stop Bits 1
Parity None
Flow control None

I am attatching all the pictures if anybody interested in these kinds of mods.

The header pins are usually on the top, and the most-documented mod is to use a 1/8" / 3.5mm TRS headphone jack and plug with the jack mounted to the rear of the case bottom. The only caveat is you have to connect your cable to USB adapter with the router powered down and adapter not inserted to the client PC or laptop. This works, however, if this is how you prefer to hack your case up.
