Hello.
After a long, successful chapter with DD-WRT, I am switching out hardware in my network for prosumer devices. (For no practical need. But, for learning/lab purposes.)
So, I've put both of my DD-WRT routers up for sale, with DD-WRT already installed:
How could the EA8500 have dd-wrt on it when it says in the description:
>>>>>>>BRAND NEW - NEVER OPENED - ORIGINAL PACKAGING<<<<<<<<< _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: WDS-AP, VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r59429

wishful thinking, I guess. Either the forum post or ebay listing is in error. I'm interested in the EA8500 but have avoided that model due to the reports of flashing drama. Serial flashing, missing components to serial flash... so wishful thinking on my part that this one is flashed and his listing is in error.

Wha? Maybe the site is directing you to something else? When I click on the links above it shows the listings as ended/sold.
I think maybe it only shows that for me since I was the seller. For you guys I think it's auto-resolving to as close a match as they can find.
I assure you that mine were not brand new in original packaging. They already sold. But, both were listed as used, flashed with DD-WRT, etc.

The EA8500 sold over a week ago. And the 1200ac several days ago. So, if EBay is showing something different, that's some scheme that they have to used old links for re-marketing.
My EA8500 flashed DD-WRT just fine. I used it with probably 100 different versions over the years without problem.
I do remember that some newer versions of the EA8500 had something in place to prevent flashing. But, mine didn't have that.

I guess we have to massage the posts in the top of this forum to add a truth in advertising disclaimer?
My statements all lined up. I think EBay just has something in place to recycle traffic to auctions that have ended.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to mark these items as sold?
