Probably best to recover to stock firmware first. Asking the question makes it obvious that this is going to be an exercise in how quick we get a brick.
That's not much and depends on how many services are running on the device, etc.
It may work but a 9 year old r7800 has just as much RAM
Sorry, I didn't want to start a discussion because you can't change it anyway.
Flash succesfull ( after a lot of reboots looking to the lan connection)
First result:
Missing 6GHz network ( not in the menu)
Unable to connect to the wireless with or without security. So no luck there.
wireless signal about 2 meters away hops from 100% tot 50% with an interval of 5 seconds.

Unless telnet is magically disabled by default, there is that option for syslogs, but primary concern is getting serial console logs. I guess we'll wait until @lexridge and/or @Zyxx gets the device in hand. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

ssh option is greyed out. So some dummy help needed here..
- Telnet into the device. That should be available by default (after you set the user/pass).
- type #cat /proc/mtd
- Look for a partition named oops. There will be a mtd number associated with it if there.
- If it's there, type:
- strings /dev/mtdNN
It should spit out text containing a kernel panic if one occurred. Post it here if so. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: WDS-AP, VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r59429

Yeah, very odd they claim 2GB. Seems like blatant false advertising to me.
We may need to set up a swap partition on USB for this one apparently. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: WDS-AP, VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r59429
