Hello

Firmware of the router is: DD-WRT v3.0-r58699 std (11/24/24).

After changing ISP, I want to change my network to improve stability of the signal and bandwidth.
The network is very simple:
- One router coming from ISP (In France, each ISP provides its (limited) router which is recognized in its network)
- A router Linksys WRT3200ACM.

The goal is to make the Linksys WRT3200ACM as both wireless client of the main router and Access point for other clients a bit far from the main router.

Currently I succeeded to make the Linksys as a client of the main router on the radio 0. Other clients can connect on the Linksys using Radio1. Radio 2 is deactivated due to instability issues.

The current setup is not acceptable since Radio1 is not very performant.
I want to use Radio0 as both client and AP knowing that it will split the bandwidth.
In that purpose, I tried to create a VAP on this radio but every time I do that, the router is no more able to connect as a client and the AP is visible but not usable.

I'm running out of ideas right now... I read that putting Channel 100 is the way to go but it doesn't work for me even if I change regulation country.
Note: When I put channel 100 on the main router, Linksys will connect using channel "48+42".. I don't know if it's fine.
The main router is also quite limited so I cannot change precisely the channel...

Do you have some insights?

Any help is appreciated Smile

We have no idea what build number you're running. There could be something broken in the build you are using.

And I honestly do not know if this is supported on Marvell Station + AP mode on the same radio.

That’s my assumption….
But I wanted to be sure of that before changing my router…

Any other opinions?

I also discovered this topic:

And especially this post which makes me more positive about the possibility to have both client and AP in the same radio:

Quote:
Because you have not provided specific details about your setup I will assume that your Master router is not a Marvell based unit and you plan on using the 3200 as a remote slave. The 3200 can be setup as Client-Bridged and will perform as you require on 5Ghz Channel 100 only (If you don't use a virtual AP, any channel will work). If however your Master is a Marvel you can also opt to use WDS.
The downside to the setup is however that if you extend the 5Ghz with a Virtual AP, you will degrade your throughput by 50%.
