I have this WRT160NL since 2010 I think.
I know it's obsolete by now and there are much cheaper and faster routers now.
I had it as a present by a close friend, so I keep it as a special gift.
It worked flawlessly with dd-wrt for about ten years!
Few years ago it just stopped working.
I don't know if it's defective, since everything works fine at the wired side.
The only problem I have is with the wi-fi side, it just won't go over 2Mbps.
I tried resetting it, but no change.
I upgraded the firmware to the latest one, still no change.
Since there are updates to the firmware, I guess the router should work fine.
Any ideas of what it might have gone wrong with my router?
Do yours work fine? Am I the only one with this problem?

Routers are pretty stable and reliable devices. They work 24/7, until one day, they don't. I'd say that after 14yrs+ yrs of operation, it's time to support the economy and upgrade! If your budget is tight, there are plenty of $20 devices on ebay that will perform just fine. I think over the years I've only had 1 randomly stop working, but it wasn't worth the time to troubleshoot, just an opportunity for an upgrade.
For the sentimental side of it, frame that thing in a boxed picture frame and mount it to the wall about the old one, as a memento.

400MHz CPU, 32MB RAM, 2.4 band 802.11bgn, 2:2x2. Not gonna get blazing fast wifi speeds out of it if the client device isn't at least a 2:2x2 wifi adapter, and even then, with default settings... my old phone wouldn't go over 5 Mbit/s on similar hardware.
