Connection throttling in games

Hi everyone,

I have a Netgear R6400 v1 router.
Now I've noticed that the connection is extremely intermittent during games. When it is started and you are simply in the lobby (e.g. fortnite), the speed test goes from a stable 100Mbs to a strongly fluctuating 4-9Mbs.

Is there any way to check where the bottleneck is, and if I could change some settings for a better performance? The laptop is connected over LAN with the router.
