I have not edited the hosts file to include Firestick. Is this normal behavior resulting from the the creation of a virtual wl OR is this something that should be a security concern?
A vlan was created to isolate all our tv stuff and it connects through a smart switch. The FireStickVWL1.1 was created to keep it on that isolated vlan. There are no connection issues, but the fact I see this entry in the host file caused concern..
That file occupies space in RAM and is written to by the system. It is actually part of /tmp. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Did you create the static lease in the UI in the Services/Services tab?
Devices added that way end up in the host file
Yes - .... thanks for the explanation..
I was doing something else when I noticed the entry and since it was a new device I added "not to mention it took a long time to ship out of the u.s and the amazon seal tape was re-sealed with clear tape... anyways the entry raised an eyebrow and I thought it would be easier to just ask then go down another rabbit hole..
If your not somewhat paranoid, then you not up on current events.
