For the r7800, I'll save you some time, don't bother trying to get the 5ghz working as sta or wds sta on k6 builds (unless this was fixed in last two builds, which i havent tested on the 7800).

They modes dont work on that particular router for 5ghz. the primary channel will never establish or come up.

Your choice is to
roll back the build - my reccomended as statued earlier is 51589 - but even with that there are some limitations.
Use the 2.4 GHz as your station and the 5GHz as your AP (as far as my last test i think this works but i dont use that config so will need confirmation)
Use a differen router as your sta (not based on same 5GHz radio or SOC)

As far as all the other fix your config stuff.. yes you should proabbly do all that too. but it wont work anyway

The conclusion is actually the 5ghz is faulty on my R7800 as even flashing back to stock firmware, though the status did not show it as faulty but the SSID does not broadcast at all.

Did you do a proper reset after returning to stock firmware? I don't seem to recall anything in the forum or elsewhere about an issue with R7800 radios failing.

Also the issue with wds STA on the 7800 5GHz was fixed in the 4/12/24 release

Please also report here:

New Build - 04/12/2024 - r55779 (Atheros)

It's not very helpful to the community at large or developer(s) to have random information outside of the build threads.
