Hello,

My router R7800
Router rebooting every few hours during the day after going to 53843
while doing that I used gov perf script, following is the script that I had
(https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=335349&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30)
then went to 53915 and it was worse.
Removed gov perf script from startup
But still had reboots.

Gone back to 53544 (9/28 build) which I had installed before going to 53843 and no router reboots now, it works fine.

I do see SFE enabled under Setup->Basic Setup in current build of 53544 of 9/28

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Otherwsie
-i dont use QoS
-i dont use SFE
-i dont use the ondemand script anymore..
-i dont have/use samba
-i dont use 5GHZ radio at all, if you use it make sure you set a valid channel (im on vanilla radio drivers)
-if you use VPN that doesent provide dco, than you have to remove dco - add to advanced vpn config box disable-dco
-check your PSU power adapter..
I have a 100Mbit/s and another one 200Mbit/s Internet subscription.

Mine have been stable for years. Upgraded to a build with kernel 6. Had reboot once. Upgraded to new build with K6.1 and have not experienced any reboots.

SFE is off. I only have a 100Mbit/s Internet subscription.

Do you have many static leases?

Do you set your static leases in the dnsmasq additional config?

My sporatic random reboots on 53843 went away after upgrading to 54079
which defaults to Performance, no scrip needed.

Been up near 2 1/2 days with no problems.

That's the route I would take.

Static leases were there months back but not anymore. That is something I need to ask later on after I get router in a stable condition w/latest updates.

So answer is No static leases.

Thanks,

That certainly is an option.

What I'm trying to convey here is that router works fine on older r53544 build of 9/28
So settings might not be an issue unless there is some setting that newer versions need to be set a specific value.

I have 1Gb service and 2.4GHz has never worked well on R7800. That is perhaps a discussion for another post so as to not get distracted from the issue at hand.
Will definitely post more details on 2.4GHz once I get latest version up and running smoothly

No need to convey anything.
53544 was before the Major upgrade from Kernel 4.9 to 6.1.
53562 was the last public K4.9 so it and all before are water under the bridge now.

Same issues here !

After updated to r53939 the problems began and a upgrade to r54079 did not helped either.
r53843 was working fine here and I guess I have to downgrade to that one to get the issues solved.

How did you do the upgrade to the newer kernel 6, totally fresh install and reconfigured the router settings or an upgrade from an 4.1 kernel build and keep all settings as they where ?

Upgraded to r54079 AND disabled SFE.

It's been up for over a day now, no reboot yet
Didn't do fresh upgrade, kept OLD settings

I already have disabled SFE and now it's running for 1 day and 9 hours.

Problem is that performance (WAN<>LAN throughput, WireGuard etc ) is below par with Kernel 6.1.
without SFE you will not get more than 550 Mb/s which used to be 900 Mb/s

So you might need SFE in some cases

I am really worried that if this is not solved people will start to use other third party firmwares which are more stable and more performant
