All,

I have been runnng a recently flashed Buffalo WHR-G54S with v23 sp1 generic standard flawlessly for 3-4 days. Suddenly last night, I was no longer able to route to the Internet. Neither ping nor nslookup responded from the shell. I was able, however, to get both to the http and telnet admin interfaces.

Note again, this was working flawlessly for at least 3-4 days prior.

More notes: I tried a number of things to troubleshoot the issue. Disabled STI, disabled SPI, used wired and wireless connections, all to no avail.

The one very interesting thing of note is that when I connected the Buffalo to another router, instead of into the cable modem, I CAN route to the internet. But for some reason, when it is connected directly to the modem, I cannot route. I can confirm that the router gets an IP address and DNS from DHCP.

Any ideas? I've tried searching the forum, but couldn't find any similar issues.

Thanks!

Sorry to bump, but has anyone else had a similar problem? Or is there another post on this forum that might be helpful--I couldnt find anything via search.

Again, router was up and running for 3-4 days just fine. Stopped routing last night. Works with another router, but not connected directly to the modem.

Has anyone had issues where things suddenly stop working?
