Hardware donation required to add device support so the developer has a test device to break. Vendors don't just magically donate hardware. Best bet is to use a European procurement option such as Amazon.de. German customs has been rather picky as of late. Unless you're a developer and know what is required to add support in DD-WRT, that's what is required. PLUS, as noted in the OpenWRT forum, there is no upstream open source support for the hardware:
