Ok, to clear the air up here, I offer this pastebin of old emails:

https://pastebin.com/c4e4yHrN

There's a driver, but it is not the upstream kernel driver included in the Linux kernel (or it's a very hacked version of one, lol). BUT, again, it's not anything that can be made to work with the webUI. Happy hunting.

ASUS RT-AC78u a1 (r52869)

Radio Mode (AP, Station, Station Bridge, Repeater, Repeater Bridge, Ad-Hoc)
Network Mode (Disabled, Mixed, A Only, N/A Mixed, N Only -5 GHz, AC/N Mixed, AC Only)
Channel (Auto)
Channel Width (20 MHz, Wide HT40 (40 MHz), VHT80 (80 MHz)

*** Channel - Not Able to Change From Auto

Current Configuration:
Radio Mode: AP
Network Mode: AC/N Mixed
Channel: (Auto)
Channel Width: VHT80 (80 MHz)
Extension Channel: lower lower

It is possible to disable the radio in the Network Mode setting so there is no connection on the 5 GHz.

I turn it off and after 5 minutes the network automatically starts.
Disabling through the schedule menu does not work either.
Are there ways to turn it off?

I've never tried to turn a radio off, but thought if the Network Mode was Disabled trying to connect to the network would not work.

To my surprise it had no effect on the wireless connection to the lan or internet.

Note: Tried to disable the radio using Radio Time Restrictions without any luck.
