Flashes via nmrpflash, reboots, goes into a "[init] : wait for nvram write to finish", then eventually reboots to image corrupted / TFTP recovery mode. Already emailed BrainSlayer.

We'll see if this will fix the problem:

https://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/52802

I'll be testing the next test image / alpha.

r52802 "relocate nvram" and 52804 "fix offset" in NETGEAR-WNDR3700V5.dts one step closer to testing by anyone.
Also, thank you BrainSlayer for looking into DTS (after reviewing Sercomm factory image rules and requirements).

Edit: It's alive! V1.1.0.32_1.0.1 to 05-30-2023-r52805 up 15 mins, router name, disable ttraff reboot settings kept!
Include dmesg, nvram show, screenshots router status, info, wireless, wireless status, mac addr, no wlan1 2.4 GHz.

Thanks for your diligence (read:hyperfocus). I don't allow one specific thing to eat at me like that much. It's unhealthy. That, and I've been dealing with a stubborn RAX120, among other projects loosely (read:directly) related to DD-WRT.

Back from the (American) holiday and I see that there has been serious progress!

Should I flash 52802 from the above link, or is it still being worked on and I should wait for an official beta release?

So much thanks to everyone for getting this up and running, all the hard work is very much appreciated!! Very Happy

Links to svn-dot-dd-dash-wrt-dot-com are development commits, not download links. Probably best to wait for the next beta. Still waiting on word about fixing the 2.4 band. The configuration for it is not present in the webUI currently. I haven't looked into the code myself, but I did contact the lead developer regarding the successful flashing of 52805 alpha firmware image, as I am sure @blkt did as well. Patience required when these things are being worked through.

Web upgrade to 52826 alpha successful, but still no 2.4 band wifi.

EDIT: I had emailed BrainSlayer about this and the following is the response I received:

Quote:
trivial. the device has a curious other chipset on board. firmware is missing. i will fix that

I haven't seen any public development commits, so the rule of patience still holds. There are other priorities and life outside of this community, even for him.

Strictly out of curiosity, when BrainSlayer said it "has a curious other chipset on board" did you infer that was for the wireless, or is it another chipset with an unidentified use?

A correctly identified chip and firmware would fix missing 2.4 GHz wireless support, but this is two days old news.

Was it not correctly investigated by OpenWRT?

As predicted the difference is I was looking for solutions instead you asked a question already knowing the answer.

Since you appear to be so very interested or engaged please feel free to sift through sixteen pages of mt76 results.

While you are at this please enlighten us with any research about Sercomm requirements in case anything missing.

I think what dale is trying to ask is if openWRTs firmware already has functional wifi for this router, why are we trying to find the solution ourselves when they already have one that we could use?

Its like they figured out 2+2=4 but we are trying to figure out what 2+2 equals.

Am I sounding right or have I failed to grasp what dale is trying to get at here?
