Anyhow, one question regarding initial flash: Does this device require the factory-to-ddwrt.img followed by the webflash.bin double-tap for a full installation?

@tatsuya46: Thanks for the confirmation. Only thing currently missing is the teardown procedure to open the case with pictures. Just now saw that you had replied while I was editing my previous comment. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Hello all,
I finally had the time to play with the 862. I was able to open the case and hook up serial to it. The kernel can not find the PCIe WLAN module, the 5GHz card. I removed the module, sprayed some Electrosolve contact cleaner, and reseated the module. No change. Is it possible the 5GHz daughter card just died?
I can get more photos, the thing is still apart on my desk. My 5GHz module is dead, not recognized by the main board at all. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

@ian5142: Thanks. There is a file size warning when uploading images, so may have to work around that. May wind up linking previously mentioned YouTube video in that section of the wiki as well. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

When you pull the page up to edit it and have logged in, scroll down and look at the links on the left hand side of the page for "Upload file". I don't have the direct link bookmarked. I believe the restriction is something like 150kb, but you can "thumbnail" images [[Image:imagename.here|thumb]] in the wiki formatting. You could probably scale down your "4K UHD" images.... _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Saw your edits to add the photos. Thanks for getting that done. I took the liberty of doing a little finessing of formatting and put them in a borderless table with captions for each image. Added youtube video link. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
