Is it easy to modify the Search function of DD-WRT's forum to ignore signatures?
Some users list their routers in the signature line, thus adding un-necesasry search results for users who want real information about the router they wanna install DD-WRT into. _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)

The first obstacle to tackle would be to re-index the database (essentially delete / rebuild the search index) and compact the database. This forum has a bunch of dead weight because of all of the deleted topics / posts over the past 10 years alone which makes the database larger than it needs to be. I don't rightly remember what you can include / exclude on this version, if anything at all, in the search function. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

How about creating a Github respository for DD-WRT's forum? Interested users can help reading the source codes, and suggest patches.
Theoretically, we don't need to clean up the database to make the search function ignoring signatures. We only need to confirm whether the search function is reading signatures. We know that the signatures are stored separately from the message bodies. _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)

Searched for farces and found only two posts instead of all your posts with farces in signature so maybe it is fixed.
It's not exactly a bug that needs a fix because some tasks may need to search signatures. An option in the Search dialogue might be helpful. But in general, the information in signatures are not that useful.
Thank you all for patching it! Hope this could help others.
Searching for "RT-N18U" brings back memory....
BTW, do a search for "RT-N18", without the last "U"! Puzzling... _________________ Router: Asus RT-N18U (rev. A1)
