I have created a thread with several simple example configurations.

Thank you for the great guide. In the case of:
"Simple LAN side port VLAN
Port 1-3 are in VLAN1
Port 4 is in VLAN3"

Eth1 was unbridged. Is there a way to remove eth1 interface? having an unbridged interface disables Shortcut Forwarding Engine automatically. Should I delete interface or just simply assign it to a 3rd bridge that will be unused?

If possible, you should not use SFE at all, since the R7800 is usually fast enough and SFE is a hack that is incompatible with all kinds of services.

Feel free to try bridging eth1 and enabling SFE.
But be aware that it can cause very strange problems.
