Tried latest version build r52369, then the first build that supported the R6850 r46690, and everything I've tried to do to get the USB port to light up a usb stick and mount anything has failed. I've set up several other older model WRTx Broadcom routers before for USB storage and all worked fine auto-mounting and using the drives.

Default config, only admin password set and Core USB Support, USB Sorage Support, and Automatic Drive Mount enabled. Formatted 64GB USB using Ubuntu Disks with ext3/4, fat32, ntfs. Nothing. Stick will not light up at all even with power off resets. Like no power getting to it.

Attached file has dmesg and messages files, I'm no interpreter. The usb lines tell me nothing.

The rest of the router's operation was great it seems, wireless and wired speeds tested out at comparable to oem firmware. But I want/need DD-WRT. Real control.

I used nmrpflash and flashed the Netgear latest release OEM firmware successfully and behold!
The USB functionality all works perfectly!

So NOT a hardware issue, it seems.

Any chance the USB drive function can be fixed for the R6850 DD-WRT builds?

I'm staying with OEM firmware for now until there's some kind of movement here, I need the USB storage to work so I can make use of several of the DD-WRT services unavailable in OEM. Like a customizable web server. SSH access. Etc etc etc.

TIA everyone!
