You cannot just change the cable from internet to LAN and expect it to work that needs s totally different setup.
Change it back so that the LAN from yourISP router is connected to WAN (internet) of the Linksys router.
Disable the VPN.
Reboot the router.
After reboot check that your time is automatically set and you have internet.
If you have to set the time manually there is something wrong in your setup.
If you have internet do an
Code:
nslookup california.privacy.network
this will show if you can resolve this address.
If you do not have internet at all chances are your ISP router also is on 192.168.1.1 and you have to changes your linksys to 192.168.2.1
Only if your internet is working proceed with the VPN and no do not use the instructions from PIA they are outdated.

Finally solved by adding some settings from the Private Internet Access link I posted above.
What held me back mostly was the incorrect advice for connecting the Linksys router to the modem/router.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the reply.
The router and ISP router have different IP addresses.
There is no internet on the router unless it is connected to a LAN port on the ISP router.
I have specified a data cipher.
All working now according the Private Internet Access "What is my IP?" page.
Plusnet is a modem/router. I am connecting to it via wireless.

WTH...
How is the router connected now?
Can you express yourself clearly and concisely?
Linksys WLAN <--> Plusnet WLAN
Linksys LAN <--> Plusnet LAN
Linksys WAN <--> Plusnet LAN
?
By the way, if linksys was once configured as a WLAN station, you have to set the WLAN interface to AP again, otherwise the WAN port will not work.
It really can't be that hard...
Reset the router, connect the cable (Linksys WAN to Plusnet LAN) and set the WAN interface to DCHP then the internet should work without problems.
