Hi,

I would like to change my current setup from Repeater Bridge to Repeater.
At the moment all my devices get the DHCP lease from the primary router.

Id like to change it to the below setup so they get DHCP leases from only Router 2-

Router 1 (Primary)-
IP - 192.168.1.254

Router 2 (Secondary)-
IP - 192.168.2.254

On router 2 I tried setting the mode to 'Repeater' then setting-
LAN IP- 192.168.2.254
Gateway- 192.168.1.254
DNS- 192.168.1.254
DHCP On

But I don't get any internet after I do this. The only time I can get internet is with repeater bridge.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Gary

The wiki mentions nothing about setting gateway or DNS.

I've tried setting them to 192.168.2.254 and 0.0.0.0 as well.
Neither seem to work

On router 2, select client

On router 1, set a static route to 192.168.2.0\24 via router 2.

Need to know what chipset.

Thanks I should have mentioned the setup is a little more complicated.

The router 1 is actually a BT Smart Hub 2 so I wont be able to add a static route on that.

-------------------------------------------
-Router 1: BT Smart Hub 2 (192.168.1.254)
-AP ethernet connected to Router 1: R7800 running DD-WRT (192.168.1.246)
-------------------------------------------
-Router 2: Linksys EA6700 running DD-WRT (192.168.2.254)
-------------------------------------------

So my Router 2 is connecting to the Wi-Fi on the R7800 over a fair distance.

Router 2 chipset is Broadcom if that's any help. Do you think it's still possible if I cant set the static route on Router 1?

What DD-WRT builds are you using?
I have R6200v2 (52148) connected to R7800 (52189) as WLAN Repeater.

All working as intended.

Reset Router 2 to defaults and configure as outlined in the wiki previously mentioned.
