There was an R7800 image posted in another thread, but I'd hold off until 52040 (or newer) drops.
r7800, build 51140, install guide v48 and bad blocks _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

I probably could, but I would have to wake someone up and hope that there are no combat flashbacks running through their brain. Some days aren't so good, but only one person would understand, and that person is a complete ass. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

have you used the build i postet here ?
factory-to-ddwrt_xr500_51042_working.img
have you used the dumaOS Gui or NMRP flash tool ?
i have successfully upgraded from r51042 to r51787 via DD-WRT GUI without any hickups
yes, i did. tryed via dumaos gui and with tftp. got bootloopd and rolled back. also tryed to downgrade dumaos to lower versions, hard resseted and installed again with dumaos gui and tftp. tryed all combinations but no luck. sorry for long answers, i post here as soon as possible.
ps/ seems there are new builds available. should i try it?
pps/ NMRP flash tool i didnt try
try r52037 or later with TFTP (tftpd64 on windows recommended , tftp2 doesnt work), bad block detection has been improved, formerly unflashable r7800 and xr500 i had aquired recently could be flashed successfully now....
brainslayer reworked the bad block detection ...
new firmware from the internal testserver : r52037
problems with a very stubborn XR500 have been finally solved ...
must flash with TFTP
Much better , but no win yet!!
Tried this build. Flashed via TFTP64 and later tried to rollback to dumaos 2.0.0.28 and tried to install from it also.
After flashing the router reboots , turns on and seems that there is no bootloop anymore. But it doest work ) cant resolve ip and no response to ping. Lan led flashes as it should be. Internet lights on even if there is no cable. Wifi led also lights, but no wifi networks detected

of course reset was done yesterday before flashing!!! )
also tried build 52081 - but got bootloop on it.
will try 52095 tonight. but i think badblock fix changes aren't merged yet on builds on this ftp.
Someone in their infinite wisdom of all things DD-WRT added a ticket:

if you can, provide a Serial log of the flash and boot process - thats how the last 2 bad block firmware where created, i made serial logs for brainslayer ...and he adapted the bad block detection
r52037 - Installs and able to ping 192.168.1.1, cannot access webgui.
r52054 - Installs and able to ping 192.168.1.1, cannot access webgui.
r52081 - Boot loops.
r52095 - Boot loops.
r52148 - Boot loops.
r52189 - Boot loops.
r52217 - Boot loops.
It was getting close with r52054 but then back to boot looping with additional revisions. Just wanted to post the versions I have tried after the recommended test build r52037. All the above attempts were done in recovery mode with Tftpd64.
"OpenWRT-22.03.3-ipq806x-generic-netgear_xr500-squashfs-factory" flashes and works successfully using the same Tftpd64 method, it's just DD-WRT that refuses to work on this XR500 with bad nand. Very excited though, to be able to finally use this router with DD-WRT in what seems to be the near future.
