So can we now 'technically' close the ticket about dual wan support in the webUI? Probably not, because we don't have support for multiple WAN port protocols at the same time yet...

Tried this on spare r7800 - r52189 but after configuration, getting unidentified network in ethernet adapter on w11 on each router LAN port?

Simple LAN side port VLAN
Port 1-3 are in VLAN1
Port 4 is in VLAN3

By default all interfaces are bridged with br0
But you can assign e.g. VLAN3 to br1 and bridge it with a guest WLAN etc.

(small hint: if the CPU ports are tagged then VLAN interfaces are created automatically)

you need to reboot the router after you have switched it to vlan
otherwise no idea what the error message "unidentified network" should tell me

Windows is not known for networking acting right. May have to run the troubleshooter or disable/enable the interface; rebooting the router is definitely advised after making such changes to VLANs, though, as already stated.

The problem was not the configuration, the problem seems to be my spare r7800 router, as its working on my other just fine.

Added, I had tried this on my spare about 8 times sadly no joy, so I posted about the problem, factory resetting each time but no go, so configured my other r7800 in the same way and it worked first time did nothing different at all, I have now taken a backup of the working one and restored it to the none working one and now that is working, very odd but happy to report both now working, more than one way to skin a cat as they say. Wink

I wouldn't object to someone pointing me to a post that shows how to set up a 802.3ad lacp bonded connection using these two wan interfaces. Would I just set "bonding type" to "802.3ad" and "interface" to "vlan2" and the two ports would be aggregated ?

@foz111

BS and I looked into the problem today and BS found the bug.

Should be fixed in the next build.

(there was a nvram parameter missing after the factory reset).

does this apply for north-star R7000 too...or its only for the other platforms, Marvel, Atheros ect.
as i just did nvram erase and manual reconfig vlans/all settings on my R7000 and all working as it should... Rolling Eyes

now waiting for the next build to arrive to nvram erase and reconfig my R7800 too...

This fix applies to all two-armed routers, dual cpu ports, so lancpuport and wancpuport not an R7000 one cpuport.

@Alozaros

The problem mainly affects routers with multiple CPU ports.

But the problem solves itself by updating to a newer build. I have just tested this, so a new reset is not necessary.

yep GUI for VLAN's on R7800 works, you can choose which CPU port to use LAN or WAN...
i used LANCPU for the VLAN's and WANCPU port remains for the WAN (wan untagged)...
one hint is, to tag the LANCPU port otherwise vlans will not appear in the networking tab... Wink
