Hi guys,

I tried to built a PPTP VPN between 2 DD-WRT routers following this simple guide:

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Point-to-Point_PPTP_Tunneling_with_two_DD-WRT

But I wasn't able to make it work properly.

My goal is to be able to reach devices from a PPTP server connection to a PPTP client connection. The reason is that the client is a mobile/cellular connection from which I cannot get a public IP. Also, both connections must access Internet from their own Internet connection.

I attached a diagram that shows what I want to achieve.

Is someone have a clue on how to get this setup working? (I know PPTP is weak but I'm ok with that for the moment). Maybe I miss some routing rules or something like that...

Thanks a lot!

40559 is not your friend for your WRT320N.

dd-wrt.v24-51937_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega_wrt320n.bin

I would also recommend upgrading to the current release on your WRT1900, whichever model it actually is (I'm not going to guess).

Sorry, i have not used PPTP at all. But OpenVPN for a decade now. And, here are my two cents.

If, say, a particular brand of car not considered safe to travel on today's motorways, would it make more sense to spend a little more money getting one that is considered safe for your family to travel in it?

Not just for just next week, but years of owning the safer car in future?

Back to VPN. Wireguard is not that difficult at all to setup. (It's much easier to set up than OpenVPN). See the attached video:

Better still, it costs you not one cent more, but useful, not outdated, knowledge gained.

Wishing you a good day.

Wow, I didn't realized that it was so easy to setup!

Thank you very much for that!

Yeah... still don't know why I didn't updated it (WRT320N) earlier...

Thanks for the link, the update was successful! Wink
