Hi
I have a wrt1900ac running build r51787
NTP Client Settings:
Time Zone--America/Montreal
Server IP / Name--216.239.35.4
I logged msgs via visualsyslog on my PC and I've been having an issue for some time now, where certain log messages display the wrong time of the day while others are correct. When I check syslog msgs directly from the GUI they all show the correct time. Usually dnsmasq msgs are correct while openvpn, dnscrypt-proxy and such would have a +5 hours stamp. I understand time will show up different at boot until time server is up but this persists all day everyday, BTW I started having this issue once I moved from Kiwi to visual syslog
for example right now it's 4:51 pm in Quebec, canada and this is from visual syslog:
Time: Mar 4 16:51:51 IP: 192.168.1.1 Host: Facility: daemon Priority: info Tag: dnsmasq[7024]
Message: using only locally-known addresses for use-application-dns.net
Vs
Time: Mar 4 21:51:52 IP: 192.168.1.1 Host: Facility: user Priority: info Tag:
Message: [vpn modules] : vpn modules successfully unloaded
And
Time: Mar 4 21:51:57 IP: 192.168.1.1 Host: Facility: daemon Priority: notice Tag: openvpn[7532] Message: Outgoing Control Channel Authentication: Using 512 bit message hash 'SHA512' for HMAC authentication
Remote syslog entries will not match local syslog simply because output of kernel messages will always be UTC/GMT. IOW, it will probably never be fixed. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

Hey thnx for the quick reply
Then Ok it's not really a big deal but thought there was a quick fix somewhere. Still weird that I don't recall this happening with kiwi. like in the GUI under syslog all msgs show the correct time. I swwitched from Kiwi as the application kept getting blocked by windows for "my protection" apparently.
