I know there is the admin backup/restore and I am aware that they have limitations between versions as settings change / update
I am pretty sure i have seen another method of backing up my router and then restoring it to a later release. Am I right, anyone got a link ?
I did try a search for backup and that just gives me so many returns which are about new builds and nothing really jumped out.

i know its not what you need but its just another way of saving/restore the back up via CLI
especially if you have USB attached and jffs or opt mount...

nvram restore fullpath to the .bin
nvram backup /opt/backup/51506.bin

Because of search terms and current build thread format, it took a while to sift through shit, but. I think the search function of this forum or proper web searches are just failing, people don't know how or what to search for, or they are not being used.
