Dear community,
I am a proud co-owner of an Archer A8 WiFi Router by TP-Link, which is the successor model of the A7v5, which is quite popular here.
However, this model is from 2020 and i expect it to be unsupported sooner or later and therefore want to install DD-WRT, which is running super nice on my ancient DLINK DIR-615 for over 10 years now.
Unfortunally, the A8 is not listed in the supported router's list, so i ask if anyone has tried to flash it and if so, which image/ orginal router model did you use for that.

Yep do not bother with routers with 4mb flash size as those are becoming obsolete.. https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/TP-LINK_Archer_A8
On 4mb flash size ddwrt image is very basic and lacks of vital futures..and those are for a very basic
use...also those to get support router donation may be needed...you'd never know..
You better get something else, even second hand will do much better...like Netgear R6400v2 or R7000, preferably R7800 as its Atheros based unit and this one has great performance and open source support... _________________ Atheros

Currently unsupported MediaTek SoC device, as previously noted. 4MB flash will not give you the DD-WRT features you are probably looking for, but a hardware donation would still be required to add support. _________________ "The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
