Router/Version: Netgear R7800
File: dd-wrt-webupgrade.bin
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r51506 std (01/25/23)
Kernel: Linux 4.9.337 #1501 SMP Wed Jan 25 01:56:15 +07 2023 armv7l
Mode: Gateway, SFE disabled, 2.4G and 5G wifi, Wireguard for external access, WAN to 4G (DHCP Client), Keep Alive reboot 6:02 in the morning
Reset: No
Status: Installed yesterday, OK.

Regarding mentioned LEDs... I cannot issue any information, since I used electrical tape to stop those LEDs illuminating the room when it is getting dark.

hmmm...scotch tape...on R7800..?? Rolling Eyes bloody R7800 has an on/off switch on the back ...unless yours is broken...tape does well...the other solution i use on my R7000 witch doesn't have a switch is start up script and a bit of permanent black marker Razz
to be honest ive never been interested on router lights and some people around are craving for those... Laughing

The 5Ghz LED seems to be out for last few firmware builds, anyone else experiencing this? Functionally all traffic over the interface is fine, its just the LED.

I noticed this on r51275, cleared nvram a few times to no avail, yet I noticed on the odd occasion the r7800 will boot up with the 5.0G light functioning correctly. Not reported as no big deal, BS has never seem to been interested in LED's.

Check dmesg boot log to see if vanilla firmware is crashing after the switchover from dd-wrt to vanilla firmware type.
If this is true try r50927 and see if precious blinkies are blinking. EA8500 I'm using r50927 for performance reasons.

On r50927 R7800 my precious blinkies are blinking BLKT sorry not checked logs, its on my spare r7800 so I just flashed back, no reset from r51275, rebooted 3 times 5.0G light seems to function on this FW version correctly mate. Only tested it so it may help fix the issue.

Do a Hard Reboot until it starts flashing again if it's important. Use to drive my OCD a little over the edge and I would just turn off the LEDs on my XR500.

I to was able to get the 5Ghz Radio LED on the R7800 flashing after a couple of Resets but during the the manual configuration and reboots the 5Ghz Radio LED would go into a state of staying OFF. It doesn't effect my clients connecting but looks like the 5Ghz Radio is OFF when it is not.

@alozaros
The power LED wasn't affected if I remember right.
And since gpio disable 0 just stops working at midnight and sometimes randomly during the day / night --> tape was the best solution.

R7800 on build 51506

No matter how often I reboot the router, select different 5 GHz firmware, apply settings, I can't make the 5 GHz LED blink again.
On previous builds changing the WiFi firmware back and forth and applying settings and/or rebooting used to get the 5 GHz LED working again, but not anymore.

And, well, yes, the dead LED is annoying, although it doesn't apparently affect the 5 GHz WiFi in the least.

The 2.4 GHz LED OTOH has been working fine all the time.

None of my Google camera devices would connect with this version. Downgraded and everything reconnected. Will do more troubleshooting / get more info later today.

Check that "QCA Q-Boost / TDMA" is disabled. For some reason I had this enabled, and with a few of the latest builds my Samsung tablet was constantly disconnecting. I thought it was the tablet until some extensive googling finally led me to the solution.

If you disable turboQAM on 2.4GHz, do your cameras connect?

That did not fix. It appears to cause issues with other devices as well. Devices connect but very slowly and seemed to get dropped. Not sure what the deal is. Will have to dig more. I have reverted to the 1/16 build. That one is stable.

Yep that was disabled on all 4 APs.
