I am running DD-WRT v3.0-r50963 std (11/28/22) on Linksys WRT1900AC.
I have noticed that after some time - can't figure out when exactly it happens - client connection deteriorates significantly to the point that it is impossible to watch any streaming services or use an internet connection - pinging 1.1.1.1/8.8.8.8 causes >10% packet drops - can be from the range of 10 to 50%.
Need to mention that nothing changes in terms of the internet connectivity, clients (location, activity, router config, etc. The solution is to either turn off/on the router or change wifi channel (I changed 2.4Ghz channel from 3 to 4).
What would cause this and how to fix it? What is the most reliable release for Linksys WRT1900AC without wifi problems?
I already have setup the router to reboot every night at 3AM but seems it does not help. The above situation happened just 30 min ago.
Code:
Ping statistics for 1.1.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 488, Received = 437, Lost = 51 (10% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 28ms, Maximum = 571ms, Average = 70ms
Signal quality in the info tab for the client shows 100%, channel quality - 70% for 2.4Ghz and 93% for 5Ghz.
These are the most used channels, usually setup as a default in most routers and if I select any of them, Channel Qualify shows less than 40%. I don't have too many neighbors - the closest house is 200 ft away.
My original question is - what might cause such behavior with wifi and how to fix it?
If you have this router, and have no such problem with wifi, what firmware do you use?
the channel 1/6/11 stuff only applies to the USA, the rest of the world has more 2.4Ghz channels available and there the channels 1+5+9+13 can be used without any problems see >
