I've been using a Netgear WNDR3800 for quite sometime, and I have issues with it. It random reboots. I live at the beach, I think the unit is flakey. I also don't use it's WiFI. I have a hardline to a central location in my house and a separate WiFi access point for that.
I run a mail server, web server, and have lots of smart devices, so I want to keep using DD-WRT.
I want to replace my router, but I don't need anything with big powerful radios on it. I want a good processor, and reliable hardware for wired-only connectivity that can handle 500Mbs ISP speeds no problem.

What would you recommend right now for that? Not looking to spend a bazillion dollars on something either. Something simple, current, and fast. I know I'll probably have to buy something with WiFi and just turn it off, but I'm more interested in specs of the hardware, not the radios. looking for recommendations.

Not clear what services are you running on the router side like QoS, VPN and ect....as those put a toll over the CPU, otherwise to just utilize 500Mbit over the WAN lots of router choices...
Netgear R7800 or R9000 will do...you can get those second hand on Ebay, lots of offers...
or their re-boxed versions Netgear XR500 or XR700

Also you can consider building a mini PC x86 box system running DDWRT on it, lots of those on the market... here is one of those https://eu.protectli.com/vault-4-port/

Thank you for the replies. I see the stickies now, and those mini PC's are pretty cool. I think I'll just go with one of the best Netgear cheap ones I can get that's in stock.
