Hello there,

I'm trying to enable IPv6 on my Netgear R7000 router using DD-WRT v3.0-r51288 std (01/12/23).
It doesn't matter if i enable the settings in the IPv6 tab, and change all the option there to enable or disable or what ever, the status it shows me keeps showing Disabled, see the attached image.

I wonder if Disabled means actually disabled, or that it could also mean, not available. Or something? I just can't get the disabled to be changed to something else.

My Provider is Ziggo in the Netherlands, and i should have Full Dual Stack IPv4/Ipv6.

If anyone has some pointers on where to look, or how to troubleshoot this that would be great Smile.

First of all why do you want IPv6?

If you have a public IPv4 address there is actually no need for IPv6, running dual stack on your router/network comes with its own problems.

As I need IPv6 for development purposes I have it running but otherwise I would be happy to disable it Smile

I also have Ziggo full dual stack but I am not an expert (yet).

For a simple setup you go to the IPv6 tab
Enable
Type: DHCPv6 with Prefix Delegation (PD)
Prefix Length: 56
Static DNS: 2001:4860:4860::8888

Disable all other settings except radvd, radvd is the router advertisement for your LAN clients.

Save and Apply and reboot router and after that reboot clients

I have a much more complex setup with custom DHCPv6 client and RA (router advertisement) via DNSMasq, I also have multiple downstream routers connected on their own subnets but the simple setup described above might already work Smile

Well, i need it for some testing also, just like you Smile.
And, it shouldn't be that big of an issue having IPv6 enabled, if it breaks, then ill turn it off again hehe.

But, besides that. I have done those steps you mentioned several times already.
I even turned off the modem, waited a few seconds and turned it on again, it just doesn't seem to get enabled.

I actually think there is something not correctly configured on the Ziggo side, or my connection just isn't switched yet to Full Dual Stack.

Former UPC areas are not full dual stack yet I think.

I am in a former Ziggo area and have it since the summer.

Just contact the helpdesk they might need to turn something on, although for me it just started working, my modem was already in bridge mode.
