|Where and how can I learn how to update packages (for security) on my own or port packages (like DSL firmware) for DD-WRT? Also how hard would it be to compile a DD-WRT version without any wifi modules and menus? Do I need C/++ knowledge for this or is it enough knowing some linux and python? Any tips? |
Just remember that most router processors are not as fast as desktop PC CPUs when running Entware apps, even if some of them has multiple cores.
- You can disable all services of DD-WRT via the WEBUI.
- In a **CAPABLE** router, you can use Entware to install additional packages, including those not available in the WEBUI. Basically, DD-WRT can run like a Linux distribution.
- Entware includes GCC the compiler. You can write your own C and C++ programs
