Have you first tried a non-DFS channel, like 149+ or below 54? DFS is hardwired into the radio chipset to cut out when it interferes with local radar and other official broadcasts on its frequency.

There have been apparent crashes with the “nas” WiFi processes on northstar recently. So, that could be a potential cause, as well.

if that the problem i am screwed, as DFS starts from channel 52 in the UK, if i choose another region who had more relaxed frame work would that help

You can certainly set another region.

Best Wireless settings see: https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=327595

Note the last paragraph.

I do not know how long ago you have resetted and started from scratch (putting setting in manually) but if everything else fails that is something to try.

I do it once a year as spring cleaning also a good time to check settings when I am doing that

full reset, and uploaded new firmware via the gui as I had tried the experimental so swapped back as I was told it was a little bit unstable.

is there anyway to turn on extra logging on the router to see if its the DFS causing the problem
