Router/Version: WRT1900AC v1
File/Kernel: DD-WRT v3.0-r50963 std (11/28/22)
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r50927 std (11/21/22), No reset this time.
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE enabled), Access Point, IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT via SmartDNS, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server, Privoxy
Issues/Errors:
Update went smoothly. Thought I had an issue with OpenVPN server losing packets, but seems to have been an issue with the AP on my phone, which I was using to test.

Update: I discovered that my Amazon Echo device sitting on the same shelf as my WRT1900AC was frequently losing connectivity to the internet. I would need to reboot both devices to get it back. This happened at least 3 times in one hour while listening to music on it. I reverted back to r50927 and it's totally stable.

One user reported problems accessing this OpenVPN server from his phone using T-mobile (apparently an IPv6 provider only which uses something like NAT64) this seems to be caused by the OpenVPN upgrade to 2.5.8 as going back to a build with OpenVPN 2.5.7 (build 50814) solved his problem.

My intial VPN issues had affected Wireguard and PPTP as well, same dropped packets. Next day, it worked fine. Had to be on the carrier side. Red Herring...

Bigger issue was with connectivity to my Echo Dot device (see previous post). I'm thinking it had to be wireless because my smart TV in another room (connected to a Netgear R7800 wired access point) streamed just fine the night before. I should have thought to try streaming something on the FireTV stick in the same room as the Echo, and I also should have tried moving the Echo to the 2.4GHz band to see if it was more stable there. Maybe I'll re-upgrade and try both.

I also encountered a similar problem last night with several disconnections on 5Ghz, while I was watching a movie on TV, I haven't encountered this problem for a long time, I must mention that I do not use VPN!

I want to point out another problem related to ipv6, if I make changes in the wireless tab,ipv6 it no longer works, ipv6 is no longer allocated on the entire network!

If you look carefully, I put in the log at 07:49:06 I reactivated ipv6 from the tab with ipv6, I just pressed the apply settings button, without making any changes after the changes made in the wireless settings tab!

some system logs, maybe you can find the problem!

Are you using RADVD and DHCP6? Using DNSMasq for IPV6 address distribution, I haven't encountered that issue.

I don't use any cosmetic settings, I'll attach some screenshots with my settings!

Additional findings on my Echo Dot issue:

Moving the Echo to the 2.4GHz band makes the connection stable. I have a second Excho Dot that's normally connected to a Netgear R7800 access point upstairs. I swapped the two devices and the problem stayed with the WRT1900AC. If I downgrade to R50927 without changing configuration, the Echo Dot is stable on either band.

The FireTV stick seems to be stable on either band. I brought my laptop down and it also stayed stable on the 5GHz band. So it seems to be specific to the Echo Dot devices on the 5GHz band.

I switched to using DHCP6 and RADVD to test. I found that if I make changes in the IPV6 tab, it seems to restart some services and took at least 5 minutes to get an IPV6 address again. I don't see that when using DNSMasq for IPV6. Disable both in the IPv6 tab, then add the following to DNSMasq additional options:
Code:
dhcp-range=::150,::1EFF,constructor:br0,ra-stateless,ra-names,1h
dhcp-option=option6:dns-server,[::]
enable-ra
ra-param=br0,10,300

I know on the WRT1900AC, if I make any changes on the Wireless tabs and apply, the router will stop routing packets, even from wired clients. I tried restarting various processes and only a reboot seems to fix. That issue has been going on for at least a year or two.

Mode/Status: Router with 8 bridges/VAP/VLAN, Wireguard, Encrypt DNS, SNMP, SSH, Syslog to USB SSD, Zabbix Agent, OpenVPN server, OpenVPN client to ProtonVPN, ftpd to USB SDD
Issues/Errors: IPV6?!

I noticed that my interfaces all have IPv6 addresses. Even those that do not have an IPv4 address. I went back to r50313, and noticed that it was the same there. I have IPv6 disabled in the settings. I also checked my other routers, and none of them have any IPv6 addresses Note: they are all located behind NAT, where this one is directly connected to the internet (should that make any difference?) The address on eth0 is still a private address with a public IPv4 address.
