How do I get to the SMB log file please? I have an issue playing back videos on two Firesticks but currently do not know if it is due to DD-WRT or Kodi as I am getting symptoms it could be either. It is not a new problem and has always existed (for me) on previous builds and different model routers whether in bridge (as Broadcom or Atheros) or WDS.

I have no problems with things like Netflix, iPlayer, SKY News, 4OD, etc but randomly at no predefined point (or not at all) when watching video from a connected SSD, Kodi will just freeze the video for a minute or so (with no signs of buffering, e.g. spinning circle) and then of its own accord flick back to the menu and then continue to play once I press the appropriate buttons to tell it to do so.

I haven't included any of my DD-WRT settings with this post as currently I do not even know if it is anything to do with DD-WRT but have included below a wonderfully crafted schematic diagram of my setup.

The fault does not happen (ever) if watching video via Firestick 1 when the SSD is connected to the R7800 WDS AP but does happen when trying to watch it via Firestick 2.

It also does not happen (ever) if watching video via Firestick 2 when the SSD is connected to the R7800 Station but does then happen when trying to watch it via Firestick 1.

im my case i placed it on a guest wifi with some restrictions...and firestick v1 video was freezing and
sometimes all the wi fi was down no internet connection and all clients dropped or those ware connected
and no traffic possible...it was time ago so no idea what build i was running..but anyway glad your x6 are working...

Mr R Design not bad idea to give more details about your wifi set up (pic form setup) router build running, syslog (klog activated) debugconsole running and ect...it just makes thing easy to diagnose...read the new build threads to find how to report issues and what is needed...

I appear to have resolved this (more by luck than judgment or knowledge) by disabling LDPC and things have been running now for aprx 8 hours without any Kodi problems. Historically, within an 8-hour period the problem would have surfaced at least two/three times.

For what it is worth there is a more detailed pic (when compared to the one in the opening post) of my setup shown below together with a timeline of the steps I went through in order to try and resolve things. I have also attached as PDFs my current Wi-Fi settings for both the WDS AP and the WDS Station.

(The syslog/klog for both the WDS AP and the WDS Station were showing absolutely nothing; i.e. no entries whatsoever around or prior to Kodi freezing and flicking back to the menu).

Does anyone know if LDPC (or ESP8266) is actually something which could affect Kodi (On a Firestick) or have I just been lucky for the last 8 hours?
