I am doing some torture testing of my R7000

Multiple up and downloads both wifi and wired using WireGuard as VPN
Code:
root@R7000:~# cat /proc/swaps
Filename                                Type            Size    Used    Priority
/dev/sda2                               partition       2097148 968     -1
root@R7000:~#
My swap file is being used, I am not a swap expert but normally it is only used if the router really has to (swappiness is default 60)

As an update, I still have the same symptoms, even though the syslogs are slightly different. I am not sure I want to mess with swap settings, just not my comfort/knowledge level. My plan now is to revert to Asus stock firmware, make sure its the newest update, and see if im still unstable. At this point though im already router shopping. Will continue to update here though incase others in the future see this issue.

I am stable without any issues on factory asus firmware. I hate the stock firmware, but I guess it is what it is.

If anyone is running the same router as I, Asus RT-AC5300, and you are stable without issue, could you please let me know which build you are running?

This model, not the GT-AC5300, is now supported by 4 different firmwares, with FreshTomato having added support as of 11/2/2022. If Merlin, stock and FT prove stable on this device we can assume where the problem lies. N.B. all those three are still Kernel 2.6, AFAIK, stock/Merlin switched to 4.2 for AX devices, but unsure if that extends to the AC-5300, haven’t tried those two in a while.

I’m going to be converting my AC-5300 over to FT as a trial to test out their CTF speed and whether they have working all 128KiB of NVRAM.
