Yes, but as you can see, no progress has been made in developing DD-WRT for Apple routers!
(Please merge the threads).
Not possible to merge threads in phpBB v2.0.x. It is your responsibility to stay in your lane and in a single thread, or not.

The thing has ancient hardware an AR9344 processor with 533 MHz , 64 MB RAM and 16 MB Flash.
DD-WRT supports dozens of routers with the same or better specs - which can be bought for 10-20€ on ebay.
And there are certainly reasons why the airport express 2nd gen is not supported by any 3. party firmware.
I had forgotten about the other thread, and yes, there are reasons why this device will most likely not see DD-WRT. Quite honestly, if you can't donate the hardware, don't expect DD-WRT developer(s) to magically dump one out of thin air.
And sorry, but 2nd gen is Marvell, 3rd gen is Atheros, 1st Gen is Broadcom .

Yes, I know what both the folks in Cupertino and Wikipedia says. True splitting of hairs would've resulted in specifying 802.11n (2nd Gen), since the oldest model was 802.11g. If you're going to get particular, get 100% particular in the details, otherwise, it's a moot point with me because I go in logical order by year and more information than what is on either site. P.S. I'm also not going to donate any of the ones in inventory for this, and I have several of all three models in a bin. Enjoy, have a nice day. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

Seeing how you are asking about this apple router of yours, you must have some products. So I went to apples website to look for some better routers for only remember that they replaced their own routers with linksys.
These are some nice units. I setup a few of them for some customers and work well.
If you REALLY want a dd-wrt router, community recommended would be the Netgear R7800 (Atheros). If I may personally, and the keyword is "personally" here, recommend one, Linksys WRT3200ACM or WRT32x.
If you are wanting to continue using this router until your years are up or something, then all I can say is "Godpseed". _________________ For people who are new to the dd-wrt forums >> http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#rtfm

You have been the only person interested in the Atheros version, but the question of DD-WRT on Apple products (including AirPort Extreme) is not new.
