I tried one more time and it seemingly uploaded the .bin file!!

Now it shows the current build number in the control panel.
This has taken so long I almost forgot why I wanted DD-WRT!!
Oh, yeah, do I can use my Surfshark VPN on my router.

Think I'll step away for a short bit before tackling that can of worms!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR BEING SO GENEROUS AND HELPING OUT!!

Openvpn client documentation is a sticky in the Advanced Networking subforum.
There is a reference to Surfshark setup.

Thanks for the heads-up.

With DD-WRT, how does one find out there is a new build and whether or not to upload it?

New builds come every 4 or 5 days normally.
Watch the new build threads in the appropriate forum for reports about your router or similar ones.

There is also easyddup for those who choose to do it that way..

You can also follow Bugtracker to see what bugs are reported and follow current developments.
