Complacency kills. I was doing a command line update of r50357 onto my routers and I accidentally flashed firmware for my client bridge (r6700 v3) onto my gateway (XR500). I am trying to search the forum for possible ways to recover the XR500 but I am having a hard time thinking of good search terms that don't bring up a ton of pages of things that don't relate to my problem. Any suggestions would be helpful or if someone else has had this issue and can help out it would be appreciated. Thank you. _________________ Netgear XR500 - Gateway

TFTP factory-to-ddwrt.img or stock firmware. TFTP instructions should be in the installation guide written by egc. There are also instructions on the Netgear KB resource.
Thank you. I can tell already that this is going to be an educational experience. Thank God I had a box of old routers that I could use as back-ups. _________________ Netgear XR500 - Gateway

Set operating system Ethernet adapter static IP, subnet, gateway:
IP: 192.168.1.10 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1
'Use the following DNS server addresses:' both servers left blank.
Tftpd Server interfaces dropdown, select the LAN Ethernet adapter.
In the Host field, enter 192.168.1.1 (the default router IP address).
In the Port field, enter 69 (the default port number for TFTP).
TFTP mode: hold reset button, power on, wait 10 seconds, power led blinks white, release, ready to click Put.
Be sure to use PCIe (not USB) Gigabit Ethernet adapter, at least Cat 5e or 6 cable.
Leave all Ethernet ports unplugged except one LAN port which is assigned static IP.
TFTP settings anticipation window of 1024 bytes, to speed up transfer if necessary.
You may also want to check the box 'Bind TFTP to this address' 192.168.1.1 YMMV.
This is because the dropdown option for Server Interfaces resets at every attempt.
Thank you. I think that I will try the "Easy TFTP flashing on Linux or macOS" method since I am running Linux. I've got some reading to do. _________________ Netgear XR500 - Gateway

Sorry for not being more granular and including anything related to MacOS or Linux <oops>
